Drone footage captured the no-go zone on the shoreline of Namie, Friday, close to the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant where a nuclear disaster in 2011 forced the evacuation of the area. The Japanese government recently announced that on September 5, the 7,401 people who lived in the town of Naraha, in the Fukushima prefecture, will be able to return to their homes for the first time since the nuclear accident. The Fukushima nuclear disaster was triggered by a tsunami on March 11, 2011, which led to equipment failures that triggered a loss-of-coolant accident. Nuclear meltdown and the release of radioactive materials followed. Over 300,000 people were forced to leave the area due to subsequent high levels of radioactivity.
