French President Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency in the country following the multiple shootings and explosions, as well as the hostage situation that rocked Paris earlier on Friday. Dozens have been killed and up to 100 people taken hostage in multiple attacks with some reports indicating that the current death toll stands in excess of 40 people in total. French media are reporting that at least 15 people have killed near the Bataclan arts centre, where up 100 people are reportedly being held hostage. Three explosions were heard outside the Stade de France in suspected grenade attacks. The explosions could be heard inside the stadium, where French President Francois Hollande was watching France host Germany. In the 11th district, at least one man opened fire with an automatic weapon in restaurant, resulting in several casualties. Another attack was reported in the 10th district at the Hicham Moumine restaurant.
