Japanese robots Frois and Yukirin officially tied the knot in Tokyo, Saturday, at Japan's first ever robot wedding. The bride and groom tied the knot in a full ceremony complete with a wedding cake, a robot wedding band and even the much awaited wedding kiss. The MC for the couple was also a robot, Pepper, developed by Softbank, who can usually be seen manning branches of Softbank's mobile phone stores in Tokyo. The groom Frois, developed by Maywa Denki, was partly designed based on a bath stool, while the bride Yukirin, developed by Takayuki Todo, and based on famous Japanese idol Yuki Kashiwagi from the girl group AKB48. Yukirin has been renamed Roborin for the occasion as well as to possibly avoid copyright infringment. 100 tickets to the ceremony went on sale in Tokyo, each costing about 10,000 Yen ($81 or €72.50).
