Rescue workers began digging through rubble in Amatrice on Wednesday morning, after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake devastated the town.
At least 10 people have been confirmed dead so far. The earthquake struck at around 3:33 am local time (01:33 GMT), and was felt across the central Italy, including in the capital Rome some 126km (76 miles) away from the quake's epicenter, in the town of Norcia.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre measured the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.1 on Richter scale, while The US Geological Survey put it at 6.2.
