Russia: Investigation underway after deadly blast near Makhachkala

Footage released on Wednesday reveals the aftermath of a bomb attack against a convoy of Interior Ministry forces that killed one Russian police lieutenant and injured two officers near Makhachkala, the capital of the Republic of Dagestan on Tuesday.
Security forces and emergency services were at the scene to remove the destroyed vehicles and gather evidence as an investigation is underway.
Two police vehicles, including a police truck carrying 15 officers, were returning to their base in Kaispijsk from Makhachkala when they were struck by the blast from a homemade explosive device planted at the side of the road.
Senior Lieutenant of the Krasnoyarsk police Igor Mutsenik was killed in the blast, while two officers of the Internal Services, Lieutenant Colonel Yevgeny Guva and Sergei Popov, escaped with injuries.
