Drone footage filmed on Thursday shows the ruins of the earthquake-stricken city of Pescara in the Abruzzo region, central Italy.
At the time of writing, 247 bodies were reportedly discovered in the town of Amatrice alone. More than 500 people have been reported injured, with victims in critical conditions being brought to hospitals in Rome. An additional number of 2,500 people are displaced.
The earthquake struck at around 3:33 am local time (01:33 GMT) on Wednesday and was felt across the central Italy, including in the capital Rome some 126 kilometres (76 miles) away from the quake's epicentre, in the town of Norcia.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre measured the magnitude of the earthquake at 6.1 on Richter scale, while The US Geological Survey put it at 6.2.
