Animals cooled off from the scorching heat with ice cream and watermelon at Rome's Biopark, Sunday. Japanese macaques, lemurs and brown bears were among the animals that indulged in the tasty treats. According to Federico Coccia, president of the Biopark, the animals are fed with ice cream and watermelon in order to simulate physical and mental activity. A heat wave has gripped the Italian capital with temperatures reaching a high of 33 degrees Celsius (91 degrees Fahrenheit) on Sunday. The blazing heat is expected to continue into next week with highs touching 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit).
