A Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner took flight in an astounding near-vertical takeoff as it displayed at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget Airport, Thursday. Footage of the plane training for the stunt went viral when Boeing put it online a week ago. It is believed that the 787-9 stunt can only be carried out without any passengers aboard and with a minimum amount of fuel in the tank. Boeing says the 787-9 - which is worth $250 million (€220 million) - is 20 feet (6 metres) longer than its predecessor 787-8, but is just as fuel- and emission-efficient. Paris Air Show showcases the latest in aircraft manufacturing, aerospace technology, civil aviation equipment, along with weapons and military equipment for air defense units. The oldest airshow in the world, it has been held annually since 1909. The event will run until June 21 and showcase 2,215 exhibitors from more than 46 countries.
