Two men on a subway platform risked their own lives as they rushed to save a man in a wheelchair who had fallen onto the tracks in front of them at the U street station in Washington DC, Tuesday. The man was travelling in a motorised wheelchair and drove off the platform just before 1.30 pm local time. After he fell, the wheelchair landed on top of him. The 54-year-old man was rushed to hospital and suffered a series of cuts but managed to avoid any serious injuries. It is not known why the man drove off the platform.
