"Ship repairing, ship building, some certain segments in the chemical industry" are preferential industries for the development of Crimea, Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists in Moscow, Friday, during his annual marathon Q&A.
"You know that the Crimea development [to 2020] programme offers some preferential provisions such as a free trade zone, but apparently quick legal and economic integration is more difficult to implement than we expected," Putin added.
Held each year, the 2016 presser is hosting a record-breaking 1,437 journalists from Russia and abroad.
Initially the presser was scheduled for Thursday but was postponed until Friday so Putin could attend the funeral of Russia’s Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, who was assassinated in Ankara on Monday, December 19.
Putin’s annual press conference was first held in 2001. The longest press conference that the Russian leader recorded was in 2008, which lasted for four hours and 40 minutes.
