USA: Shakira joins calls on world leaders to eradicate child poverty

Columbian pop superstar Shakira was joined by Noble laureate Malala Yousafzai in addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Friday. The pair called for redoubled efforts by world leaders to eradicate child poverty and boost investment in education. The session concluded with the UN adopting the new Sustainable Development Goals designed to end poverty and hunger by 2030.
