The United Nations (UN) Security Council successfully passed a resolution demanding Israel to put an end to building illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian territory during a vote at the UN headquarters in New York City, Friday.
Fourteen nations voted FOR the resolution, while only one nation, the United States, abstained from voting, meaning the resolution was passed through the Security Council.
A round of applause followed the announcement of the results of the vote, which Egypt had already postponed for one day under pressures from Israel.
