The Russian Ministry of Defence released footage, Sunday, showing soldiers from the Arctic Motorised Brigade of Russia's Northern Fleet conducting introductory training exercises with husky dogs and reindeers near the village of Lovozero in the Murmansk region.
The footage shows soldiers practicing sledging exercises and raid drills in freezing temperatures. The drills mark the first time the Northern Fleet has incorporated husky dogs and reindeers into their exercises. The soldiers were assisted by expert reindeer herders and dog handlers throughout their training.
After a day of drills, the soldiers warmed themselves up in traditional nomadic tents known as chums.
