Syria: Russian air strikes hit 8 ISIS targets near Jisr al-Shughur

The Russian Air Force hit eight targets of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in and around Jisr al-Shugur over the past 24 hours, the country’s Defence Ministry announced in a series of statements on Sunday. Using guided aviation bombs, Russian Air Force jets destroyed four ISIS command posts in addition to several munition depots. The Defence Ministry announced Sunday that the Russian Air Force had carried out a total of 20 sorties over the past 24 hours, hitting 10 ISIS targets. Sukhoi Su-24M and Su-34 bombers took part in the Jisr al-Shughur sorties while armoured Sukhoi Su-25 ground-support fighter jets were involved elsewhere.
