The Iranian House of Cartoons in Tehran held the "Trumpism Cartoon and Caricature Contest," on Monday, in which participants drew depictions of US President Donald Trump most mocking the world leader. The top prize was awarded to cartoonist Hadi Asadi for his picture depicting Trump wearing a suit of money while his hair is ablaze.
The Iranian House of Cartoon director Masud Shojaei-Tabatabai stated that ""Trump's behaviour clearly sets out reasons for the event like this, consequently, we decided to use arts capacity for displaying the behaviour." The same organisers held an infamous Holocaust cartoon contest last year denouncing what they claimed as Western double standards on free speech.
The exhibition was sponsored by Iran's Organisation for Sacred Defence of Artistic and Cinema Affairs. According to local reports, the competition attracted artists from over 75 countries with total number of works exceeded 1,600.
