FIFA Official Extradited to the United States

A FIFA official arrested last month in Zurich as part of a far-reaching corruption investigation has been extradited to the United States, the Swiss justice ministry announced Thursday.
“The first of the seven FIFA officials being held in custody in Switzerland was extradited” to the United States on Thursday, the Swiss Federal Office of Justice said, according to reports, though it did not mention the official by name.
The extradited official faces charges of accepting bribes “totaling millions of dollars in connection with the sale of marketing rights to various sports marketing firms and keeping the money for himself,” the ministry said last Friday.
