Italian rescue workers captured drone footage over the town of Amatrice, after a 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck central Italy on Sunday morning, days after tremors in the same region left two to three thousand people from local villages homeless.
A reported 11 people were injured on Sunday, with local sources stating that the earthquake woke up Italians as far as Rome. The National Commission for the Forecast and Prevention of Major Risks (CGR) predicted on Friday that more earthquakes could hit the region in the near future.
Sunday's earthquake follows earlier tremors in the week which damaged buildings around central Italy. Both events come after August's 6.2 magnitude earthquake in central Italy that killed some 290 people and injured over 400.
