SOT, Matt Winer, NBA TV Host: "It is of course a bittersweet time for the basketball community, we are here to celebrate All-Star weekend and specifically today the new finalists for the Hall of fame but as you know these early days of 2020 have also brought us heartbreak; the Hall of fame family and the entire basketball world are grieving the recent passings of former MBA commissioner David Stern, NBA legend Kobe Bryant and the Hall of fame coach Morgan Wootten."

Los Angeles Lakers star and late Basketball legend Kobe Bryant was named as a finalist for being induced in the 2020 class of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Friday, at the United Center in Chicago.
Bryant, a five-time NBA champion and one of the top scorers in league history was in his first year of eligibility to be named for the honor. He was joined in the finalist list by other notable figures in the sports' history like the Minnesota Timberwolves 15-time all-star Kevin Garnett and the iconic San Antonio Spurs centre Tim Duncan.
A memorial service for Kobe Bryant, who was killed alongside with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant during a helicopter crash in Calabasas, Southern California, will be held at the Staples Center on Monday, February 24.
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame 2020 enshrinement ceremony will be held in Atlanta, Georgia in early April.
