Cutting-edge modern and advanced military fighter jets and helicopters were put into action at the International Military-Technical Forum 'Army-2015', as the largest military expo in Russian history kicked off on the outskirts of Moscow, Tuesday, at the 'Patriot' military amusement park. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu oversaw a demonstration of several military aircrafts, including displays by Mi-28 'Havoc' attack helicopters, Sukhoi Su-24 fighter jets and Sukhoi Su-27 fighter jets. Paratroopers also staged a demonstration with the Russian flag. Drawing from all branches of Russia's armed forces, more than 5,000 pieces of military equipment were on display at the 5,000-hectare site, including tanks, missile systems, armoured personnel carriers and aircrafts. The expo is organised by the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation and runs from June 16 to 19. The forum is a platform for interaction between defence industries and military authorities to facilitate innovative research and development in military technologies and equipment.
