Pope Francis addressed a US Congress on Thursday, saying that the United States "must not repeat the sins and the errors of the past" when dealing with immigrants. "Our world is facing a refugee crisis of a magnitude not seen since the Second World War," he added. According to Pope Francis, the USA should "implement a culture of care" because "most of us were once foreigners." The pope described himself the "the son of immigrants" from Italy who settled in Argentina last century. The Pope addressed Congress the day after he raised other political topics such as poverty, climate change and inequality in his speech at the White House.
