Ukraine: Violence erupts in Kiev as protesters clash over 'illegal' building

Violent clashes broke out between protesters and riot police near the Osokorki housing complex in Kiev, Thursday, as protests against reportedly illegal building on the site erupted in violence. The demonstrators threw missiles at riot police, managing to kick down a fence protecting part of the building site. Several activists allegedly received gunshot injuries, reportedly fired by unknown assailants protecting the area. Fights also broke out between those protecting the new building projects and those opposing the construction.
