Saint Petersburg's Blagoveschensky, Dvortsovy, Troitsky and Liteiny bridges were lifted during the daytime for the first time in their history, as the city held a Navy Day rehearsal, Sunday.
At least 15 ships and vessels of the Russian naval fleet were on display at Neva River, including Grachonok-class anti-saboteur ship "P-424", corvette Stoykiy, and small missile ship “Serpukhov”.
Russia will mark Navy Day on July 30 with military parades all over Russia. The celebration dates back to the Soviet era, having been established in 1939. It was dissolved in 1980 but reinstated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2003.
