Saad Eldeen Al-Jamal and his son took their two pet lion cubs for a stroll through the streets of Gaza City, Wednesday. Dozens of local residents followed them onto the beach where they gathered round to take photographs and ruffle the animals' fur. The female lion is named Mona, the male - Alex. Al-Jamal, who lives with his family in the Al-Shabora refugee camp in southern Gaza, purchased the two lions from an impoverishd zoo in Gaza at the start of the year. The family raise the cubs in a three-room apartment with their four children.
