Moscow's Victory Day celebrations went off with a bang on Monday, after a ten minute firework display marked the 71th anniversary of the Soviet victory in the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
Fireworks displays were set off at several different locations across the capital, including the Kremlin, Poklonnaya Hill and Luzhniki Stadium.
The Moscow Victory Day Parade and fireworks are part of the commemoration services marking the 71th anniversary of the Soviet Victory over Nazi Germany, featuring a series of parades that occurred in 26 Russian cities. More than 10,000 people, 135 military equipment including T-90 tanks, armoured personnel carriers and 71 infantry fighting vehicles and helicopters took part in the Victory Day parade on May 9.
