Russian dairy farmer Oleg Sirota has become official cheese supplier to the French national football team during the World Cup, as shown in footage shot in Istra on Monday.
"It's cheese for the national team of France. They ordered 400 kilograms. They take three blocks of cheese per day. It's about 12-13 kilograms," Sirota said.
The farmer said that the French team chef Xavier Rousseau popped into his dairy one day and took a tour. Suitably impressed, Rousseau became a customer.
"They take 140 cans [of yogurt] per day after the match for rehabilitation. I was told that [Kylian] Mbappe likes yogurt with black currant. And [Antoine] Griezmann likes it with raspberry," Sirota added.
France is set to face Uruguay in the World Cup quarterfinal at Nizhny Novgorod stadium on Friday. It is not known what effect 400kg of cheese will have on the team's performance.
