Saad Mohammed, a resident of the small village of Belqina north of Cairo, presented his hand-painted version of Koran, which he believes to be the longest edition of the holy book in the world.
The 58-years old did not complete his school education, but is highly skilled at drawing and calligraphy. It took him three years to write and decorate his homemade Koran, which measures in at 700m (2,296ft). Along with this lengthy masterpiece, Saad also has been transcribing other holy texts.
The artist expressed his wishes that the paper would eventually be rolled and unfurled using an electric gear at some point. The artist hopes his work will make it to the book of Guinness World Records.
