Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the social media platform was seeing election interference coming from domestic sources on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
The tech chief said "coordinated information campaigns" during elections were "not just foreign interference of the type that we saw before, but it's increasingly also domestic."
The Munich Security Conference is taking place between 14 and 16 February. Major issues on the agenda concern security issues in the Middle East, North Africa, the Arctic and the Balkan region, energy security, cybersecurity, arms control, health and trade.
