A car that was about to fall into the Bosphorus in Istanbul was saved by locals who sat on the front part until a crane arrived at the scene, Wednesday. Local papers reported that the tourists were visiting a museum on the European side of the city and forgot to secure the handbrake as they had parked their rental car. According to witnesses, the vehicle then slowly started sliding towards the strait, which separates Europe from Asia. As the passers-by jumped on the car front, they prevented it from crashing into the water. Members of the fire department later lifted the vehicle and put it on safer grounds.
