US President Barack Obama commented on the alleged Russian hacking scandal in his final press conference of 2016 in Washington on Friday.
The President recalled a conversation he had with Russian President Vladimir Putin in China earlier in the year, stating that he had thought the most effective way to ensure the election process wasn’t tarnished was “to talk to him (Putin) directly, and to tell him to cut it out and that there would be serious consequences if he didn’t.” Obama then added, “And in fact we did not see further tampering of the election process.”
He also commented on the situation in Aleppo, claiming that “the Syrian regime and its Russian and Iranian allies are trying to obfuscate the truth.”
