Rio de Janeiro brought in 2017 in style with a three minute firework display visible from the city's iconic Copacabana Beach on Saturday night and into Sunday morning.
The display was shortened from its customary 12 minutes due to government cuts. The event was marred by a spate of
robberies which unfortunately is common on the night of celebrations. Despite this Spanish tourist Ahron Sanchez heralded the experience as one that "everyone must do once in their lives."
