Germany: "Gravedigger" Schauble's temporary 'Grexit' would be "end" of Eurozone - Die Linke co-chairman

A temporary Greek exit - or 'Grexit' - from the Eurozone would have "devastating consequences," Die-Linke co-chairman Bernd Riexinger said outside the party's headquarters in Berlin, Sunday. Riexinger condemned the German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schauble's actions, saying he has not been authorised to advocate a temporary Grexit and called him "the gravedigger of the Eurozone." Schauble has proposed Greece could leave the Eurozone for five years, a suggestion France and Italy strongly oppose. Riexinger said this would be "the beginning of the end" and went as far as suggesting German Chancellor Angela Merkel should "separate" from the German FinMine. Members of the Eurogroup are currently holding a summit in Brussels to find a solution to the Greek debt crisis. The negotiations come exactly a week after Greek voters rejected the bailout terms, proposed by Greece's lenders, in a referendum. The new Greek proposal offers economic reforms in exchange for a new three-year €53.50 billion ($60 billion) bailout package, which 250 out of 300 Greek MPs supported.
