A rally led by head of Bulgarian nationalist party "Ataka" Volen Siderov paraded through Sofia city centre on Wednesday to commemorate the country's Liberation Day from the Ottoman Empire.
"Ataka" followers walked through the centre of the city wearing Bulgarian and Russian flags and singing patriotic songs. The parade's special guest this year was Nikolai Valuev, a former Russian professional heavyweight boxer who spoke in front of the crowd, later giving Siderov a medal.
Bulgaria was liberated from Ottoman rule in the wake of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.
