Chinese tech giant Xiaomi unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Mi 6, in Beijing, Wednesday.
The highly anticipated Mi 6 is a top-end model with 6GB of RAM, a dual-camera and an upgraded curved screen. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that "it is our most powerful mobile phone to-date. Compared to any rival phone, its performance remains outstanding."
As Apple's iPhone 7, the Mi 6 has removed its headphone jack. Its battery life and Wi-Fi reception have been significantly improved, and the CEO boasted that the 3350mAh battery will last a full day thanks to new controls built into the operating system.
The Mi 6 uses dual rear cameras comprised of a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. It allows adding the bokeh effect to pictures. The 'Beautify' feature which in previous models was only available for the front-facing camera now also works with the main camera.
Despite similarity with the iPhone, a high price is not one of them. The 64 GB version of the Mi 6 costs ¥2499 (€338; $363). The most expensive ceramic edition will retail for ¥2999 (€406; $435).
The phone will go on sale in China on April 28. International markets will follow.
