Iran: US, UK and Israeli flags BURN in Tehran outside former US embassy

A group of Iranian students burned US, British and Israeli flags outside the former US embassy in Tehran, Wednesday, as an anti-American plaque was unveiled in front of the building. The stone plate, presented by the Basij paramilitary forces, bears statements condemning the US originally issued by the Islamic Republic of Iran's late founder, Grand Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. The protest comes after Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif brokered a deal during the P5+1 nuclear talks, negotiating international legislature that will allow Iran to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes in exchange for significant easing of Western economic sanctions against Iran. However, Israel together with its Gulf allies have been campaigning against the programme and the US Congress could theoretically still block the agreement. While Britain and Iran have reopened their respective embassies in London and Tehran, Iranian officials have stated that the republic's line on the US will not change. There are reports that police have been arresting merchants for selling clothing bearing US and UK flags.
