Icebreakers and the tugboats that often guide them could be seen performing a 'waltz' on the Neva River near St. Petersburg as part of this year's Icebreakers Festival, Sunday. The two-day festival has been organised to help celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the victory in World War II, specifically to honour the Arctic Convoys that delivered supplies to the Soviet Union and its allies during the war. The four icebreakers that took part in the festival are called 'Krasin', 'Moskva', 'Ivan Kursenstern' and 'Kapitan Sorokin'. They are currently active in securing shipping routes in the Arctic Ocean.
