Emergency services are looking for eight missing people following a landslide that caused a highway to collapse in Minami Aso, Kumamoto prefecture, Sunday.
The landslide was caused by the magnitude-7.3 earthquake that hit southern Japan on Saturday. The quake and the landslide destroyed segments of road and caused the 200 metre-long (656 feet) Aso bridge to tumble into the Kurokawa river, near Minami Aso.
At least 32 people died and hundreds were injured in Saturday's earthquake following an initial quake on Thursday that killed nine people.
