Supporters celebrated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's victory in the streets of Istanbul on Sunday, as the final votes for the Turkish constitutional referendum were announced. Erdogan's supporters waved flags reading 'Evet' (yes in Turkish), beeped their car's horns and danced as fireworks alighted the capital's skies.
With more than 99 percent of votes counted, the Turkish President had 51.36 percent voting 'Yes' and 48.64 percent of voters choosing 'No'.
The referendum is now set to approve constitutional reforms proposed by Erdogan's Justice and Development Party (AKP) and will replace the existing parliamentary system with a presidential republic.
