A fluffy royal albatross chick becomes curious and checks out the GoPro camera filming it while waiting for its parents to return with food, footage released on Tuesday shows. The five-month old chick was filmed by its nest at the Royal Albatross Centre on the Otago Peninsula in the south of New Zealand. The species is considered vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to commercial fishing practices and loss of habitat. The chick is one of 26 currently at Taiaroa Head, the only mainland royal albatross breeding colony in the world. Footage courtesy of: Royal Albatross Centre
