Russia: Putin and Bulgarian PM discuss Turkish pipeline, nuclear plant

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a working meeting with the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov in the Kremlin on Wednesday in which they discussed infrastructure and bilateral relations.
Putin said that Russia is ready to return to the construction of the Belene Nuclear Power Plant in Bulgaria 'if the Bulgarian leadership takes an appropriate decision […] on market terms.'
Speaking about the Turkish Stream pipeline, Putin said: "The work on the Turkish stream is about to end. We have already completed our works regarding the building of one line, the gas line passing through the bottom of the Black Sea."
Borisov and Putin both commented on the possibility of the Turkish Stream pipeline entering Europe through Bulgaria, with Borisov adding: "Nobody is opposed to the extension of the Turkish stream gas pipe towards Bulgaria."
The Russian leader also said that the refusal from the South Stream cost Gazprom 800 million euros [US $933m], which was 'written off at a loss.'
The South Stream was an unrealised gas pipeline project, which was planned to be built on the bottom of the Black Sea from the Anapa area to the Bulgarian city of Varna. This project was later replaced by the Turkish Stream.
