Close to 50 sharks were seen swimming in circles in shallow coastal waters off an RSPB nature reserve near Selsey, West Sussex, after the tide rose on Wednesday. Shark fins were spotted by a warden of the park, who captured the footage. They come inshore to feed on crabs and other marine life that inhabit the shallows, the RSPB say. The sharks have been identified as 'smooth-hounds.' This kind of shark can grow up to 1.5 metres (5 feet) in length and weigh more than 13 kg (29 pounds). They are a shallow water shark species relatively common around British coastal waters, although rarely seen. Footage courtesy of RSPB
