Israel: Victorious Red Army celebrated in Jerusalem

Hundreds of World War II veterans were joined on the streets of Jerusalem by thousands of Israeli citizens, Sunday, to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany by the Soviet Union and its allies. People and veterans marched on Rothschild Street, waving Soviet flags and symbols as a brass band played music for the crowd. Others carried the flags of allied countries. The parade was organised jointly by the municipality and the Fishka Russian Cultural Centre.
