The unique 1998 McLaren F1 LM went on display at Sotheby's in New York, Wednesday, as the auction house prepares to sell the car at their flagship Monterey sale in August, expecting to fetch between $12 and $15 million (€10.6 and €13.3 million). One of only two left of the 64 built in 1998, the McLaren F1 was upgraded to Le Mans Formula 1 racing specifications but the model can still be used on regular roads. The special three seating configuration puts the driver sitting dead centre in the car with room for two passengers on either side. The model is just one of what will be the largest single owner collection ever brought to market, worth an estimated $65 million (€57.7 million).
