Belgium: Erdogan says 'we cannot speak of a good terrorist vs. a bad terrorist"

Turkish President Recep Erdogan, who is in Belgium as part of a state visit, met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels on Monday. During the meeting Erdogan discussed a range of topics with the EU head including the refugee crisis, the war in Syria, and Turkey's two-pronged offensive against Kurdish militants and Islamic State. On the latter subject, during a press conference after the meeting, Erdogan claimed, "we cannot speak of a good terrorist versus a bad terrorist." "Because we must work collectively to fight against terrorism without any hesitation," the Turkish leader said. "This terrorist organisation should not be given the chance to achieve some sort of cloak of legitimacy for themselves under the guise of fighting against Daesh in Syria. I'm very open and clear in what I say. PYD is a terrorist organisation like the PKK and they work together. At this point we cannot speak of a good terrorist versus a bad terrorist. Daesh is a terrorist organisation and so is the PYD and PKK," he added.
