An EgyptAir plane carrying at least 59 passengers and 10 crew members went off the radar after leaving Paris for Cairo, Thursday. Media were seen at Charles de Gaulle Airport, where the flight took off at 11.09 (CEST), before it "disappeared from radar."
The flight, No. MS804, was expected to arrive in Cairo by 3:00 (CEST) on Thursday, however went off the radar after entering Egyptian airspace over the Mediterranean Sea, according to flight tracking services.
Cutting his visit to Saudi Arabia short, Egypt's minister of civil aviation, Sherif Fathi, is returning to Cairo to address the incident.
