Syria: Russian Tu-22M3 bombers hit IS targets in Deir ez-Zor Province - MoD

Six long-range Russian Tu-22M3 bombers hit targets of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) in Syria, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) said in a statement on Sunday.
The MoD said the bombers targeted militants' warehouses, equipment stores and outposts in the Deir ez-Zor Province.
It added that Su-30SM fighter jets, which had taken off from the Khmeimim air base, took part in the military operation, ensuring the security of the bombers in Syrian airspace.
