Mhamad Ashour is a gifted 23-year-old musician from Aleppo, Syria who is currently living in Idomeni refugee camp. He spends hours playing music every day and said, Thursday, that he dreams of being "a big star musician."
Ashour is a self-taught musician who wants to reach northern Europe but is currently stranded at the refugee camp in Idomeni. After borrowing a guitar from volunteers at the camp, Ashour started practising every day, aiming to make a career as a musician in the future.
"I want to go to Europe, of course to Germany or to another country. I think in every country in Europe they like music and you know what is the meaning of music, the music is food for soul you know," he said.
Aside from his passion for music, Ashour assists at the tea tent and the information tent in his free time. He describes himself as a happy person in Idomeni. "I help the people, I volunteer. I don't care about anything, I don't care about my future. Because I can play here anytime, I am at my future," he stated.
