Volkswagen AG unveiled its redesigned Passat and a new concept model of Beetle Dune 2016 during the Los Angeles auto-show on Wednesday. Before the presentation CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Michael Horn, stated that finding a solution for the latest emissions scandal remains an "immediate priority" for himself and the company. "I'm personally hopeful that we would be able to announce something soon about the remedies that we have identified and which we are discussing with the agencies in the upcoming days," he said. Moreover, Horn thanked all the customers who "have put their faith and trust in Volkswagen over the years." The new Beetle is more stylish looking and sportier than its predecessors. To emphasise its off-road qualities, the car's ride height and width have been raised and extended. The Dune model is equipped with a 1.8 litre four-cylinder engine, as well as entertainment and connectivity systems. The presentation took place at the South Hall of the Convention Centre in Downtown LA.
