Greece: Drone footage shows THOUSANDS of refugees stranded at Macedonian border

Drone footage shows thousands of migrants and refugees at a buffer zone near the Greek-Macedonian border town of Idomeni, Friday, as they attempt to head north in the hope of reaching the European Union. Macedonian security forces tried to disperse the crowds earlier in the day, using stun grenades and tear gas and injuring at least eight people, according to Greek police. Hundreds of people have reportedly been permitted to cross the border, primiarily families with small children. Up to 44,000 people have reportedly travelled through Macedonia in the past two months alone. Migrants rarely apply for asylum in Macedonia, instead passing through the country on their way to northern European nations like Germany and Sweden. Greece alone has received, according to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) figures, 124,000 migrants this year, mainly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, with 50,000 people arriving in July alone.
