Russia: See the PP-2000 & MTs-116M up close and personal

Two of the most perfect samples of small arms developed by KBP Instrument Design Bureau were filmed on Tuesday in the Russian city of Tula, with department head of KBP Subsidiary Yuri Amelin detailing the unique PP-2000 submachine gun and the MTs-116M high-precision sniper rifle. The submachine gun was put into mass production in 2006. It is used as a weapon for law enforcement agencies and as a personal defence weapon for certain military personnel categories. The cartridges used are cal. 9x19mm including 7N31 with an armour-piercing bullet. MTs-116M high-precision sniper rifle distinguishes itself from domestic and foreign counterparts with the barrel, with the outer part made of high-strength composite. This enables the overall weight of the rifle to be reduced and enhances the barrel's rigidity, improving accuracy and reducing possible heat distortions. The trigger mechanism components are adjustable and adaptable. The firing range of the rifle with a .338 LapuaMagnum cartridge stands at 1500 metres (4921 ft).
