Cyprus: Erdogan meets Turkish Cypriot leader amid Suruc explosion chaos

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci in Nicosia on Monday, to honour the 41st anniversary of the Turkish 'invasion' of the country. Erdogan's visit coincided with a bomb attack in the southeastern Turkish town of Suruc, which is located close to the Syrian border. At least 28 people were killed and 100 injured by a reported cluster bomb, with the attack targetting a gathering of the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF). Turkish officials claim the attack was conducted by the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).
